Renata is a London based designer from Brazil. Her work is known for its minimal chic style and its ethical approach. Renata graduated in 2017 at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, the most prestigious fashion schools in the world. Her work was selected by the legendary MA director Louise Wilson, OBE, who remarked that her designs were “extremely beautiful and sophisticated”. Her graduation collection was the only one in the course focusing on the ethical and sustainable use of materials. Among her mentors were some of the most briIliant course directors in the world, such as David Kappo, Patrick Lee Yow, Elisa Palomino and Fabio Piras.
This collection is the result of combining everything Renata loves and believes in, embracing her fascinations, obsessions and desires. It aims to create a world and a statement that a woman will want to be a part of.
It all began with looking at the works of Oskar Schlemmer and focusing on his perfect use of lines to create forms that depict the shape of the body at its most simplistic, graphic and geometric. The lines, cuts and design of Renata’s works express her obsession with classic aesthetics, stories about kings and queens, and for the inexplicable simplicity that lies behind all that is elegant. The inspiration for the choice of colours and fabrics came to her when she went home to her country for the summer break. She grew up in a farm, and is fascinated with the lifestyle of the countryside. She wants to imbue this atmosphere into her works.
